About our school

Our school has 523 1-5 students. We are the newest elementary school in the Coeur d’Alene School District. We are known as the “Atlas Explorers”. We are excited to be in a facility that offers our students so much! The staff is committed to providing students the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in today’s world. Teachers work together collaboratively to analyze student work and test results to create the best programs for each child.

PRINCIPAL MESSAGE

freeby.JPGHello, my name is Scott Freeby.  As the principal of Atlas Elementary, my goal is to work with the Atlas Community in providing quality education, setting high expectations, and creating a caring community for all students.

My background includes twenty five years of professional experience in the field of education, working as a teacher and administrator with students, parents, staff, and community groups in Southwest Idaho. I have an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.  My Masters is in Educational Administration from Albertson College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho. For the past fifteen years, I was the elementary principal at Homedale Elementary in Homedale, Idaho.  Prior to that, I taught grades three, four, five, and six in three different school districts in the Treasure Valley.  All of these experiences have provided me with skills and a knowledge base that allow me to offer quality administrative leadership.

I am excited to be a part of the staff and parent community that make Atlas Elementary such a great place for kids. Our staff is student-centered, caring, and motivated toward the success of all students. Our parents are very supportive and actively help out with many activities throughout the school.

The students are why we are here. They not only excel academically, but are also learning about respect, ethical values, and social skills, which we at Atlas Elementary School consider to be equally important. We strive to create an environment where students feel safe, comfortable, and respected.

I welcome you to visit our school and/or to call or email me at anytime with comments, concerns, and suggestions.
